Prof. Margam Madhusudhan is currently serving in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Delhi. With an illustrious academic career spanning over 25 years, he has made outstanding contributions to LIS research, teaching, and institutional development.

Throughout his tenure, Prof. Madhusudhan has held several pivotal leadership positions, including Deputy Dean of Academics, University Librarian (I/c), Member of the Academic Council at the University of Delhi and  In-charge University Librarian and HOD, DLIS, Goa University.  In these roles, he has played a strategic role in shaping academic policy, enhancing library infrastructure, and promoting research-driven innovations, particularly in integrating metaverse technologies into library services and education.

His remarkable academic and professional accomplishments have garnered him 18 prestigious awards, including the Research Excellence Award and the Academic Excellence Award in 2024, clearly showcasing his steadfast commitment to academic excellence. As a dedicated research mentor, he has guided 19 PhD theses (6 ongoing), 29 MPhil dissertations, and over 225 project reports. His contributions have significantly shaped the next generation of Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals, reflecting his dedication and insight.

Prof. Madhusudhan’s scholarly impact is reflected in his impressive research metrics: he holds the highest number of Google Scholar citations (2,665), an h-index of 24, and an i10-index of 48 among LIS faculty in India, testaments to the broad reach and relevance of his academic work. In recognition of his influence, Stanford University ranked him among India’s top 2% most influential scientists in 2023.
