Outlines 500-600 documents published in the last ten years originated from 31 countries to prepare a research for the clarification of the status and social prestige of librarianship according to the program of the IFLA RTMLA's operational plan for the year 1988-1992. Suggests to link the appropriate study and analysis of human factors to the research programs dealing with the technological problem in the field of library and information activity.
