Makes out a case for setting up of a National Information System in Social Sciences (NISSS). Proposes that NISSS network should include national centres of information, regional centers, sectoral systems and other specialized services. Suggests that Ministry of Education, through the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) should be responsible for NISSS scheme, which need to be put into practice as soon as possible.
