STURMAN (J). Problems of Effective Copyright Implementation in the Developing Countries of Asia . 11,2;1986;179-91

This paper sets out to examine some of the perhaps more obvious problems faced by many Asian countries in their attempt to coordinate these essential preconditions to implement an effective copyright system. These problems are lack of appropriate copyright law, lack of national author society, lack of an adequate intellectual property arbitration mechanism, failure of countries to ratify the international conventions, lack of community awareness and appreciation for the contribution of the authors. In order to overcome these problems in the way of the effective copyright system, several suggestions have been made.
