The Primary concern today is the provision of the basic infrastructure facilities for meeting the requirements for externing into the electronic age. Information technology (IT) application is a complex process involving many inter-related technological and non-technological factors, some related to the library, others to the information technology itself and the society. A variety of technological, managerial, personnel, economical, sociocultural and governmental factors are likely to affect the IT application in libraries in the developing countries. In building up the IT infrastructure all these factors should be taken into consideration.
