MISHRA (SK). Structure and Development of Economics. 13,1;1988;1-14

Examines the reasons that have led to the development of economics and emphasises that its structure has changed through time. Discusses the pattern of changes in the structure of economics. Traces the development of economic thought before and after Adam Smith, and discusses the conditions for the development of institution of exchange as the cornerstone of social organization, classical economics; neo-classical economics, and Keynesian economics. Examines the structure and development of economics after 1950 and discusses the problems of unemployment, inflation, capitalist economy, planning, economics of environment, etc. Concludes that there is lot of structural flexibility in economics and that there cannot be one 'economics-one universal economics'.
