MAJEE (Arabinda). Functions of the Imperial Library during the Rule of Akbar. 27,1;2002;61-67

Attempts have been made to highlight the functions of the Imperial Library of the Mughals, particularly during the rule of Akbar, the Great Mughal, who ruled Hindustan from 1556-1605 A.D. Reveals that a systematic and scientific method of acquisition of manuscripts, cataloguing, classification and referential services including the system of circulation of manuscripts or books had been introduced by the order of the Emperor and thus the Imperial Library of Akbar gained vast fame through out the oriental world in those days.
